Five pre-teen youth launch a rebel insurgency in an abandoned suburb against an unknown enemy. In the post-cause generation, what is there left to die for?

The youth (ages 10 and 12) find themselves in an abandoned suburb. There they are filmed engaging in urban guerrilla warfare against an unknown enemy. They light flares, break into homes, hide out in backyards… The footage is then screened behind them in the theatre while they attempt to each answer the question: “What would you die for, in real life?”

Six agents provacateurs enter the lives of the real-life residents of Neighbourly Lane, a sleepy subdivision in suburban Toronto, and begin uncovering their hopes, regrets, fears, and secrets. With flourishes of dark comedy, the loose narrative follows six residents over the course of one day and one night and how their respective longings and desires inextricably link them together. With Eddington’s evocative score and the piece’s imagistic multi-media design, Post-Eden creates amythology for this suburban crescent in which the residents’ lives converge with their depictions of paradise, and the wilderness reclaims what is rightly hers by night.
