A DINNER OF UNUSUAL CERTAINTIES
December 3, 2012 / Toronto Free Gallery / 1277 Bloor St. W. Toronto
A dinner party conversation with Toronto’s urban design & public art provocateurs, The Department of Unusual Certainties. DoUC is an alternative research and design studio working at the interstices of urban design, planning, public art, spatial research and mapping. DoUC’s work is informed by one guiding philosophy - that the city is the physical manifestation of a long sequence of unusual certainties, each one simultaneously more unusual and yet more certain than its predecessor.
The evening’s conversation focused on the socio-economic evolution of Toronto’s suburbs and the relationship of the artist within them.
